De La Soul Delays Album, Releases "For Your Pain & Suffering" EP

Originally slated to come out today, "And the Anonymous Nobody" gets pushed back to August. Six months ago, De La Soul set the release date for their Kickstarter-funded album And the Anonymous Nobody: April 29th. This morning, the storied Queens trio announced that they are pushing back the release date to August 26. “We have a lot of featured artists on this album," the group wrote in a letter to their 11,000 Kickstarter backers. "So with that being said, we have to get permission from their labels, and that takes a little bit of time. As well as our attorneys speaking with their attorneys and drawing up agreements and contracts,” they wrote. They also announced that they would release their first single, "Pain" feat. Snoop Dogg this summer.

Chris Brown made a few announcements on twitter recently, one of which is that his collaborative OHB mixtape is dropping Friday. Last week, Chris Brown came out of nowhere and released a new single called “Shut Down” featuring his newly-formed OHB crew, aka Original Hood Bosses. While little is still known about this OHB crew yet, it appears we’ll find out much more about them soon when they release their collaborative mixtape with Breezy this Friday. On Tuesday, Chris took to twitter to make a series of announcement for fans to look forward to, and the first being that his OHB mixtape would be dropping this Friday, the same day as his arch-nemesis Drake’s #VIEWS arrives “coincidentally.” However, this OHB mixtape isn’t the only thing fans can start to look forward to. The Royalty rapper also revealed that he has a new song with Quavo & Section Boyz coming out soon called “Whippin,” which he previewed on social media recently (see below). And if that still wasn’t enough, Breezy also announced that he will be blessing fans with an upcoming solo record as well on May 5th, just in time for the Summer months. Plenty of Breezy on the way. YG Says The Secret Service Is Harassing His Label Over "FDT"

YG says the Secret Service is looking into his lyrics following the release of his controversial "FDT" record. YG already knew he was going to have to deal with the repercussions of releasing the controversial “Fuck Donald Trump” record with Nipsey Hussle earlier this month, so it shouldn’t come as much of a shock to hear that the Secret Service is now harassing his label. TMZ was able to catch up with Bompton rapper at the airport on Monday, and asked him if he’s actually heard from the Donald himself. With a presumed “no,” YG went onto say that it’s the secret service that’s been looking at him & his lyrics... "Secret Service hollering at the label," YG tells TMZ cameraman. "They asked to see the lyrics on my album to see if I'm talking about [Trump] on my album, because if I'm talking about him on my album they're going to try and take it off the shelves." YG later went onto say that there not understanding his real message with the song & video however, "we're trying to touch the people. We're trying to motivate the young people to vote,” he added

Kodak Black Charged With Weapons, Drugs & More After High-Speed Police Chase

Police have confirmed details of yesterday's arrest of Kodak Black. A high-speed car chase ensued after police had seen Kodak amid an alleged drug deal. Photos as well as footage of Kodak Black (real name Dieuson Octave) being handcuffed and put in the back of a police SUV surfaced yesterday, though the charges against him were unknown. It has now been confirmed that the South Florida rapper was arrested yesterday in his native Broward County for possession of weapons by a convicted felon as well as possession of cannabis. He also faces additional charges of fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer at a high speed as well as disobeying traffic devices. Speaking to Miami news outlet WPLG Local, police reported that they originally spotted Kodak involved in a suspected drug deal with two other men. When police approached, Kodak and another man, Wisdom Williams, were able to drive away from the scene. A high-speed pursuit ensued, during which Kodak reportedly sped through multiple red lights. The chase ended when Kodak parked his car at 2017 Jackson St. in the town of Hollywood, where police saw him discarding a firearm into a nearby dumpster. Police reported that Kodak and Williams were both uncooperative during the arrest and that their vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. The amount of cannabis police were able to find is unknown except for that it was less than 20 grams. When police searched the dumpster, they discovered a loaded Glock 23 pistol as well as a 30-round magazine round of ammunition. As Kodak had been previously convicted on a kidnapping charge, he has been charged as a felon for possessing a weapon.

The Game, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg & More Respond To Birdman's Breakfast Club Walk-Out

Take a look at how everyone from Snoop Dogg to Pusha T are reacting to Birdman calling out the Breakfast Club. This morning, Birdman gave us a healthy dose of drama by pulling up and then quickly backing out of his interview with The Breakfast Club, all within the span of two minutes. The Cash Money bawse has made headline after headline when it comes to his lawsuit/beef with Lil Wayne, and beyond that, we've seen several other lawsuits stemming from other unpaid and unhappy artists on his label. Birdman hasn't really spoken much on the controversy that surrounds him, (although he did do an interview with Angie Martinez that revealed absolutely nothing), instead, he continues to sign new artists to Cash Money. Today he was scheduled to have an interview with The Breakfast Club. They're not shy about discussing controversial topics, so you could bet Charlamagne Tha God was prepared to ask about all of the Birdman/Cash Money rumors, however first, Birdman had to get something off his chest. Put some respek on his name. The tension in the room was visible from the jump, however it seemed as though Baby was going through with the interview when he sat down-- not for long though, as soon as Charlamagne started to question why he insisted on pulling up to a radio show rather than an artist like Rick Ross, who publicly spoke out against how Birdman is handling his business, Birdman was off.

Lil Wayne Receives The Key To Lafayette, Louisiana

Lil Wayne receives the key to Lafayette, Louisiana. Move over Drake & Kendrick Lamar, you two aren’t the only rap superstars to receive a key to your hometown cities states. Last night before taking the stage for his Tidal exclusive event at the Cajundome, Lil Wayne was given the key to the city of Lafayette, Louisiana by Mayor Joel Robideaux. “We appreciate what you and TIDAL have done on behalf of the philanthropic efforts and we’re so proud of our Ragin’ Cajuns, Alpha Phi Alpha, for what they did and we want to present to you a very special key to the city that we made specifically for you,” said Robideaux. As giddy as can be, Tunechi accepted the key by putting the one-of-a-kind necklace around his neck, saying he “made it.” He then grabbed the mic and proceeded to take the stage for UL Lafayette students as part of TIDAL’s initiative Social Wave for Change, which rewards college students for their community service.

Three More Men Accuse Afrika Bambaataa Of Sexual Abuse

Ronald Savage's claims have encouraged three more alleged victims to come forward. A few weeks ago, a man by the name of Ronald Savage came forward with a sexual abuse accusation levelled against hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa, sharing that the musician molested him over 30 years ago at the age of 15. Shortly thereafter, he told his story in painful detail, and while Bambaataa has disputed the claims, three more men have now emerged with similar accusations. Hassan Campbell, who is now 39, recalls being abused "numerous" times between the age of 12 and 13, reporting to the New York Daily News. "He had the most fun house in the world," said Campbell, who stayed with Bambaataa when he was experiencing trouble at home. "There were celebrities there, musicians, neighborhood heroes. It was the best place to be - and the worst place to be." "He is a pervert," Campbell said. "He likes little boys." Another man, who agreed to speak to the NYDN, but requested his name be kept private, says, "I know what Ronald Savage is saying is true because he did it to me. I have never spoken to anybody about this and when I did, I said 'Holy s---, they finally caught up to him.'" Bambaataa's attorney reportedly denied to comment on the new allegations when asked by the New York Daily News.

Kobe Bryant Refused To Sign Nick Young's Adidas & Threw Them In The Trash

Kobe Bryant is a company man. Kobe Bryant was definitely in a giving mood all season, blessing other NBA stars like Paul George and LeBron James with their with own signed pairs of Kobe sneakers. With his retirement giving season is over, and not everybody was lucky enough to get a pair. However, it’s unlikely anyone was as unlucky as the Black Mamba’s own teammate Nick Young. Per Los Angeles Laker’s reporter Mike Trudell, after Kobe’s last game Swaggy P tried to get his legendary teammate to sign a pair of his adidas kicks. Rather than sign a competitor’s shoes, Kobe threw Young’s sneakers in the trash and gave him a pair of signed Nike sneakers. It also looks like Young snagged a signed copy of the scorecard. Maybe Kobe didn’t like it when Nick Young said he left Nike because they don’t pay enough attention to their sub-star players. We aren’t sure exactly how many sneakers Kobe Bryant signed during his farewell season, but according to ESPN he brought five to seven pairs to each road game. We’re sure Nike isn’t sweating the stock.

Tory Lanez Declines XXL Freshman Cover Spot

Though he got an offer, Tory Lanez will not be a member of this year's Freshman class. There is much buzz about the rap world regarding the 10 rappers who will appear on this year's XXL Freshman cover. The HNHH staff recently shared its opinions on those most deserving of the honor and put forth a list that includes talents like G Herbo, Jazz Cartier, and Tory Lanez, the latter whom it seems has been a contender for a few years now. Regardless, the self-proclaimed face of the New Toronto is bigger now than ever before, but as of today, Lanez himself has confirmed that he will NOT be pictured among the 2016 crop of Freshman. "I passed on the XXL cover. Don't b confused," wrote Lanez today on Twitter, officially joining the ranks of his Toronto neighbors Drake and PartyNextDoor as artists who have turned down a spot on the Freshman cover. Last year's Freshman issue came out at the beginning of June, so chances are that XXL has already started to narrow down the guys and/or girls who will be a part of this year's Freshman class. And if Lanez' tweet is to be believed, XXL offered him a cover spot, which he apparently declined

Kanye West’s “I Feel Like Kobe” Shirt Now Available For Purchase

Fans can now cop Kanye West’s special edition Black Mamba shirt that he wore during Kobe’s final game Wednesday night. Kobe Bryant just played the final game of his remarkable 20-year career at the Staples Center Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, where he put on a 60 point performance for the fans. Unsurprisingly, the arena was packed with some star-studded artists & celebrities to watch the Black Mamba take the court for the last time, including Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, David Beckham, Jack Nicholson, Schoolboy Q, The Weeknd, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West, who caught the attention of the fashion world with a special edition “Black Mamba” shirt that he rocked during the game. Inspired by The Life Of Pablo merchandise, the Donda-designed shirt has garnered a ton of hype on the internet over the past two days, with many fans wondering how, or if, they could cop the shirt themselves. Luckily for those interested in buying the shirt, Kanye just answered their prayers. On Friday night, The Life Of Pablo rapper took to twitter to announce that fans can now officially purchase the “I Love Kobe” shirt now on his website for a “reasonable” price of $65 bucks.

Tech N9ne Announces Release Date For Next Album "The Storm"

Tech N9ne is reportedly working on a new album called "The Storm," dropping in September. Tech N9ne may be 44 years old, but he’s still easily one of the hardest working rappers in the game right now. Having released two albums in 2015 in Special Effects & Strangeulation 2, the Strange Music CEO is reportedly already eyeing his follow up for 2016. Taking to Instagram Friday night, Tech decided to presumably announce the title to his next album The Storm, which will be dropping on September 9. His captioned read, “I don't fit the part for mainstream cause I'm rougher only time they wanna look like me is Halloween mutha fucka! ( I GET IT NOW) THE STORM, 9/9/16.” According to HHNM, Chris Brown is reportedly set to make an appearance on a song called “Mid Cuff,” but that hasn't been confirmed. No other information is known at the time, but we’ll definitely keep you posted once we found out.

Kanye West's "Saint Pablo" (Sort Of) Appears On Apple Music

This might be a glitch on Apple Music, but we aren't complaining. Even when Kanye West isn’t directly involved, there always seems to be some weird stuff happening with the way the rapper’s music rolls out. We posted a stream to “Saint Pablo” that was subsequently taken down, and the only way it could be found was on Tidal. Until today, when a Reddit user discovered a stream of the song online. Strangely enough, the song is on Apple Music. Specifically, it’s located on a user’s profile named “Apple Curator.” While Apple Music allows users to upload their own music, they don’t post any of that uploaded music publicly, which makes the presence of “Saint Pablo” pretty surprising. This comes after The Life of Pablo appeared on all streaming services after Kanye infamously declared it would only ever be on Tidal. The best part is that it’s available for listening even for people without an Apple Music subscription. So if you missed out on one of Kanye West’s doper tracks of the last few years, head over and take a listen. It probably won’t be up for that much longer.

Kanye West Debuts New Song, Performs "Pop Style" For First Time

Watch Kanye West perform new song "I Don't Want To Be Liked" and Drake's "Pop Style" in Manila. Several videos have appeared from Kanye West's first show of 2016 at the Paradise International Music Festival in the Philippines. Now, more footage from the performance has surfaced, including the debut of a never-before-heard take on "Runaway" titled (on YouTube) "I Don't Want To Be Liked." The song features some auto-tune warbling from Kanye over gospel piano. "I would rather follow God than the media," he sings. Also of note: a performance of his new collaboration with Drake and Jay Z "Pop Style" that came before Drake debuted a new Throne-less "Pop Style" on OVO Radio. So, perhaps Manila was the first and last time we hear the song from Kanye.

Kanye West Says The Taylor Swift Line On "Famous" Helped Him Beat Writer's Block

After performing "Famous" for the first time in the Philippines, Kanye West segues into an emotional speech about overcoming writer's block, a battle that began after his run-in with Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs. "That night when I went on stage was the beginning of the end of my life. Lady GaGa cancelled the tour the next day. You know what night I'm talking about," Kanye West told the crowd during his headlining show at The Paradise International Music Festival in the Philippines last night after performing "Famous" for the first time ever. The night in question is the night of September 13, 2009, when Taylor Swift won the award for Best Female Video at the VMAs was interrupted by Kanye during her acceptance speech, who told her, "I'mma let you finish," before telling the audience that "Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." The controversial moment was brought up again after Kanye released his latest album, The Life of Pablo, as on the track "Famous," which was recently named Pablo's first single, Kanye opened with the lines: "For all my Southside n*ggas that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous." That line ended up leading to another uncomfortable award show moment, as Swift seemed to target Kanye during her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at this year's Grammys. After giving the inaugural performance of "Famous" in Manila last night, Kanye explained how "Famous," and its opening line in particular, helped him rid himself of writer's block. "What I wanted you to know the whole time," he told the crowd, repeating the song's final lyric, "in the spirit of Nina Simone -- in the spirit of real artists -- this is the song that broke the writer's block for me." He went on to relive his infamous 2009 stage-crash, which he feels was an example of him saying "what everybody else was thinking." "So if I get in trouble for saying the truth," he continued, "what's being said the rest of the time?" He also revealed that he "fought to make that ["Famous"] the first single off of Pablo." "It's really overwhelming for me to perform that song for the first time and for y'all to react to it that way," said an emotional Kanye. "If you don't mind, I'd like to do the song one more time." They didn't.
